As an Apprentice, you’ll need to bring a detail-driven approach, a passion for craftsmanship, and a commitment to quality. Training Program: As an Apprentice Cabinet Maker, you will be enrolled in a Certificate III in Cabinet Making (Kitchens & Bathrooms), covering essential skills and knowledge, including:
- Working safely in the construction industry
- Participation in environmentally sustainable work practices
- Communicating effectively in the workplace
- Collaborating within a team
- Using hand and power tools for furniture-making
- Making precise measurements and calculations
- Reading and interpreting work documents
- Handling dangerous goods and hazardous substances
- Obtaining a White Card
Role Responsibilities: While completing your in-house training and fulfilling apprenticeship requirements, your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Working with hands, hardware, and machines (e.g., Panel Saw, CNC Machine, Edge Bander, etc)
- Assisting in the manufacturing and assembly of high-quality cabinetry and joinery units
- Examining designs, drawings, and parts to determine specifications
- Performing various general workshop duties including tidying, cleaning, and organising
- Taking initiative during quiet periods to find and complete tasks within training capabilities
- Reporting progress to a supervisor or manager
- Assisting in the installation of cabinetry in kitchens, bathrooms, laundries, studies, wardrobes, entertainment units, and more
Please note that this role can be physically demanding as individuals are on their feet for most of the workday.
